Peroxidase Substrates

3,3’ Diaminobenzidine (DAB) is the most commonly used chromogen for Immunohistochemistry staining. In the presence of peroxidase enzyme, DAB produces a brown precipitate that is insoluble in alcohol. GBI DAB kits contain three components: DAB substrate buffer, DAB chromogen and Hydrogen Peroxide. All buffers are supplied in 20x concentration. It requires a simple dilution.

DAB enhancer is supplied at 20x concentrated or ready-to-use solution. It is specially formulated to enhance DAB staining on tissue section. It will increase the sensitivity of DAB on stained tissue. 20x concentrate format require simple dilution.

DAB+ is designed in a two-component format. It is more sensitive than regular DAB. It shows crystal sharp picture upon react with HRP enzyme. Its sensitivity is equal to leading company’s product.

AminoEthyl Carbazole (AEC) is an alcohol soluble chromogen so DO NOT dehydrate. Under the presence of peroxidase, it will generate a reddish deposit at the reaction location on tissue sections. The AEC kit contains substrate buffer, AEC chromogen and H2O2 Peroxide. All reagents are provided at 20x concentration liquid form. It requires a simple dilution.

Alkaline Phosphatase Substrates

Fast-Red kit contains fast-red tablets and ready-to-use substrate buffer. Fast-red is alcohol soluble. DO NOT dehydrate.

AP-Red+ chromogen/substrate system comes in a three concentrated components format. It produces red colored precipitate under the presence of alkaline phosphatase. AP-Red plus is soluble in organic solvent. DO NOT dehydrate.

BCIP/NBT is provided in ready-to-use single solution format. It produces dark blue/purple color precipitate under the presence of alkaline phosphatase. The sensitivity and stability of this product is superior than some leading company’s products. It is alcohol-insoluble. BCIP/NBT is 2 fold sensitive than AP-Red+. Slide stained with BCIP/NBT may be dehydrated for permanent coverslipping.
